Healing Racism Institute of Pioneer Valley

The Foundation has played a central role in the convening of a community-wide initiative to address issues of race and racism that continue to impact individuals, businesses, neighborhoods, communities, schools and interpersonal relationships in our region.

As part of the City2City Pioneer Valley initiative, community leaders, including representatives of the Davis Foundation, traveled to Grand Rapids, Michigan to learn about the community's Institute for the Healing of Racism housed in the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce.

Modeled after the Grand Rapids program, the Healing Racism Institute of Pioneer Valley offers a signature two-day Healing Racism program that has engaged hundreds of leaders throughout the Pioneer Valley. The program provides a safe and transformative process that helps attendees understand the root causes of racism and facilitates personal and organizational strategies designed to overcome its impact on our region.

The Foundation hosts the Institute, provides administrative support and is one of two founding funders for the Healing Racism Institute of Pioneer Valley.
