The guiding principles and values of the Foundation reflect the thoughts and wishes of the family.  They include:

• The Foundation cannot meet its mission in isolation and works in partnership with families, schools, community organizations and other key stakeholders to address community issues
• Early intervention and equitable access to resources are key to economic self-sufficiency
• The Foundation is willing to take risks, is open to new approaches, and believes that through innovation and creativity we can respond to the ever-changing needs of Hampden County residents
• We believe in the importance of data to inform decision making and are committed to assessing our investments to insure quality outcomes
• The Foundation will remain humble in its work; the needs of Hampden County residents are at the center of all we do

Since the beginning, the Davis Foundation has given grants to hundreds of nonprofit arts, cultural, health, human service and educational organizations in Hampden County.  Funds can be secured for start-up projects, capital campaigns, ongoing organizational needs, emergency needs, and multi-year priorities.  Many local nonprofit organizations have come to rely upon the Davis Foundation as a source of support for a vast array of programs and projects.  The Davis Foundation and the family have historically served as leaders in supporting countless community efforts.
