Grantmaking criteria are as follows: - Grants are available to Hampden County 501(c)3 organizations; organizations located outside Hampden County are eligible to apply for a grant if they can demonstrate they serve the County -- eligibility and funding is determined in proportion to the percentage of services to the County
- Grants are to pay for consulting services and other management support services but are not for operating costs, existing staff salaries, etc.
- Grants may be considered for management/staff training on skills directly related to strengthening and organization's management and/or planning practices
- Organizations may be expected to contribute a cash match (based on a sliding scale) in support of the organizational capacity building project
- Organizations are expected to submit two consultant bids with the grant application. The consultant bids should clearly identify expected outcomes of the consultation. The Foundation does not select the consultant to be hired nor does it manage the consultant contract
Organizations are strongly encouraged to call the Davis Foundation about their proposed project before submitting an application for funding. Projects for which organizational capacity building grants are not eligible: - Capital Campaign feasibility studies
- Endowment campaign planning and/or implementation
- Individual Scholarships
- Direct fundraising activities
- Legal fees
- Financial audits
- Staff training and/or organizational capacity building services that have already been received
