Holyoke Community College Itsy Bitsy Child Watch

Holyoke Community College's Itsy Bitsy Child Watch program provides free, on-campus child care for children ages 3 months to 12 years, helping student parents pursue their education without having to worry about affordable, reliable care. In Spring 2026, student parents using the program achieved an 88% course completion rate and 92% semester-to-semester retention rate. See how the program is expanding to include evening hours and support even more families.

The Early Childhood Exchange (ECX)

The Early Childhood Exchange (ECX) is a partnership between the Rennie Center for Education Research & Policy, Strategies for Children, and the Massachusetts Early Childhood Policy Research Collaborative, working to bridge the gap between research and policymaking in early childhood. At a time when Massachusetts is making significant investments in young children and families, ECX provides state and local leaders with timely, actionable evidence to inform policy, implementation, and funding decisions. The Foundation is proud to partner with several Hampden County school districts, including Holyoke Public Schools, to offer Ignite Reading to support young readers. MassPotential

MassPotential brings together educators, policymakers, and advocates to advance evidence-based literacy policy throughout Massachusetts, working to ensure all students have the foundation they need to succeed. The organization leads the Mass Reads Coalition, a network of more than 40 groups pushing for stronger literacy instruction in schools across the Commonwealth. Innovation & Excellence In Education

Libertas Academy Charter School

Libertas Academy is a 6–12 public charter school in Springfield built on a belief that all students can achieve at high levels with the right academics, supports, and culture in place. In 2025, middle school students ranked #1 in the state for math growth. This spring, the school's second-ever graduating class celebrated Senior Signing Day, with seniors publicly declaring their college destinations and future majors, many of them first-generation college students. Rennie Center for Education Research & Policy

The Rennie Center pairs research with on-the-ground practice to drive better outcomes for students across Massachusetts. Their annual Condition of Education (COE) in the Commonwealth report gives a clear view of the state of public education and a framework for improvement. Each year, the Rennie Center also brings that conversation to Western Massachusetts, convening educators, business leaders, and state officials to explore how research and innovation can strengthen local schools. Girls Inc. of the Valley

Through its five-year Eureka! program, Girls Inc. of the Valley combines STEM learning, mentorship, leadership development, and college and career readiness to help participants succeed. Between 2018 and 2024, Eureka! graduates achieved a 99% high school graduation rate and an 84% college enrollment rate.

Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts equips students with the financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness skills they need to thrive after high school. For young women in Hampden County navigating trauma, violence, and systemic barriers, Roca provides an intensive intervention model built on relentless outreach and one-on-one mentorship, connecting participants to mental health support, employment, and essential benefits. A recent independent evaluation by Tufts University found significant reductions in depression, domestic violence, and PTSD among participants.
